Jun 29, 2018 Update: New Version 1.1.2 Release -- Fully compatible with the latest Magento 2.2.5. Check out the latest UB Content Slider.

In the version 1.0.5 and older, [Magento 2] UB Content Slider extension makes use of shortcodes embedded in blocks, pages or calls sliders via XML file. To make things a bit more user-friendly, we’ve added a new feature to the version 1.0.6 that allows you to add sliders anywhere using widget module manager.

Before we go into details about the new widget enhancement in our UB Content Slider, I will walk you through a bit on Magento 2 Widget.

Introduction to Magento 2 Widget

The Magento widgets system is a graphic interface where you can configure blocks in the front-end, with predefined set of configuration options.

As we have covered the topic introducing Magento 2 widgets part I, Magento 2 has a set of predefined widgets that you can configure and show on different pages. You no longer have to deal with the block short codes to insert the blocks.

While the “content blocks” show a powerful way and flexibility in allowing you to structure the Magento front-end layout using XML files, widgets on the other hand add a more friendly shortcut for administrators to deal with the front-end content. Continue reading →

Ubertheme upgraded to Magento 1.9.3.4

As you might know Magento Community Edition 1.9.2.4 has just been released one day ago, that includes patch bundle for PHP 5.3 Compatibility, SOAP API Patch, Upload file permissions etc., You can find more details on this bundle of patches for Magento 1.x here. We highly recommend that you have your site updated with the SUPEE-7405 v1.1 patch bundle or upgrade to Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14.24 or Magento Community Edition 1.9.2.4.

For our themes and extensions, we’re testing and implementing updates to keep our products work well with this release. For now, here are our first batch of responsive Magento theme available for Magento 1.9.2.4:

Magento 1.9.2.3 Themes Updates

Jan 28, 2016 Update: Our 20+ themes have been upgraded to the latest Magento 1.9.2.3. If one of the themes in the following list was used for your project, we highly recommend you check out this important update to keep your site safe.

Two days ago, Magento has just released Magento Community Edition 1.9.2.3, which includes a bundle of the security-related patches and and an update to the USPS API. If you are using Magento CE prior to 1.9.2.3, we highly recommend you either install the SUPEE-7405 patch bundle or upgrade to CE 1.9.2.3, as instructed in this Magento announcement (This recommendation also applies to Magento EE prior to 1.14.2.3; Magento 2 CE & EE prior to 2.0.1)
